The ability of a student to learn in school is not just a question of self-motivation, there are many social, emotional, environmental and personal barriers to learning that arise from time to time for all pupils. Pupil Wellbeing is a very topical subject, but this has always been a key factor in an individual’s ability to learn.

Before a school can seek to address impediments to learning it needs to gather information from their students about the barriers and what needs to be addressed.

We have reviewed research in this area and using our knowledge and experience in education settings in England and Wales have constructed a set of survey statements divided into 7 common evaluation groups:

  1. Personal barriers
  2. School environment
  3. Home and Community
  4. Relationships
  5. Social and Emotional factors
  6. Mental Health
  7. Physical Health

In each of these evaluation groupings we have a bank of statements for pupils to consider and express their views upon. Whilst these statements are designed to cover the major aspects in each group, schools are free to remove, add or flex any of the statements to suit their context and needs. If the changes are significant then there may be an additional bespoking fee.

This survey is designed to give a snap-shot picture of the current challenges facing pupils and their wellbeing. Some schools find it helpful to compare results annually or even more often to provide evidence of impact of actions taken to reduce barriers and raise pupil wellbeing. Discounts are available if the same survey is undertaken more than once in a school year.

All our surveys are designed to be completed online although if you prefer we can print, deliver, collect and process paper surveys. We analyse your results by year group and gender and provide electronic copies of the clear colourful charts and data tables. Paper reports can be provided on request. More importantly, your results will be with you within 7 working days.
